O Diagrama de causa-efeito anteriormente apresentado em (Araujo e Travassos, 2006) para se observar decaimento de software foi estendido através de resultados de estudos baseados nos conceitos de Revisão Sistemática. Alguns dos relacionamentos foram eliminados, como por exemplo modularidade e eficiência, que não podem ser observados ou são difíceis de medir.
The Cause and Effect Diagram initially presented in Araujo and Travassos (2006b) was modified based on Systematic Reviews. These studies contributed to a better understanding of software decay process and contributed to the construction of a model of system dynamics more refined.
Through studies based on technical literature review, some relationships appeared, others were eliminated, and still others changed their sense of influence. There is still that the software characteristics of modularity and efficiency been removed. Modularity can not be observed from models and difficult to be measured by product metrics. Efficiency was incorporated to effort, since the interpretation given to efficiency, in terms of team productivity, is treated in literature as effort.
