Managing Knowledge about Resources for Autonomic Computing

Nowadays, in the IT scenario, there is an increasing need forknowledge to solve problems in a faster and safer way. People create andchange information faster than in the past. Although the majority these exchanges are made via the documental form, there is also a large amount informal or tacit knowledge exchange in people’s interactions. The GCR environment was designed to aim at the use of Knowledge Management in the Autonomic Computing scenario. There, employees can be provided with all necessary knowledge to execute their tasks, to make decisions, collaborate with one another, disseminate individual knowledge to transform it into organizational knowledge, and organize and create knowledge about symptoms and problem resolutions. This article shows the GCR framework and its current status.
