DESIDERATA:
To translate the information contained on protein databases in terms of functions (selected entropy measures) of random variables (probability of occurrence of amino acids), in order to model a statistical mechanics framework and to infer useful results for a dynamics of folding and unfolding of proteins.
Abstract:
The information on planetary motion has been annotated on Astronomical Almanacs (Ephemerides) along centuries and can be derived and analyzed by methods of Newtonian Classical Dynamics and Deterministic Chaos as well as by post-Newtonian corrections. Nevertheless, the information accumulated on Biological Almanacs (Protein databases) on the last decades, is still awaiting its first description to be done by a successful theory of folding and unfolding of proteins. Our goal is that the description of databases as a thermodynamic system could predict some dynamical stages (Down with the Levinthal’s Paradox!!) of the evolution of Protein families and their association into Clans.
