Larissa Monteiro da Fonseca Galeno (master's student at PESC), came first in the second edition of the Elisa Frota Pessoa Award.

The Elisa Frota Pessoa Prize is a competition held by the Museum of Tomorrow in partnership with the Municipal Secretariat of Science and Technology of Rio de Janeiro. 

Larissa won first place in the Master's - Exact Sciences category. The competition awarded the best scientific works with the theme "Science and technology in promoting gender equality". 

Larissa also came first in the same category in the first edition of the award, in 2023. The previous year, her work explored the use of Large Language Models (LLM) to promote gender equality, through the development of a web application. In 2024, her work debated the importance of technologies to support the mentoring of young people entering a technology career, with the title: "ConectAda: Mentoring Platform to Support Women in Technology". 

Larissa is a Software Engineering student, supervised by professor Guilherme Horta Travassos. He has worked collaboratively in research groups with Professor Geraldo Xexéo, in the Igualdade STEM project, and in extension actions with Professor Edmundo Silva.
