PESC researchers earn the SBC Innovation Seal.

The Innovation Seal of the Brazilian Computing Society (SBC) is a competition that aims to select projects developed during undergraduate, master's or doctoral studies with the potential to become technological innovations, as a means of supporting the Brazilian startup ecosystem.

In the first phase of the competition, five works were selected for presentation on July 22nd, during COMPUTEC, an event that is part of the 44th SBC Congress, held in person in Brasília (DF), from July 21st to 25th. In the second phase, the three best projects evaluated won the SBC Innovation Seal.

The work entitled "Heroine's Learning Journey", authored by researchers from the Systems and Computer Engineering Program (PESC) Luis Costa, Yuri Oliveira de Lima, Carlos Eduardo Barbosa, Luciana Nascimento, Larissa Monteiro da Fonseca Galeno, Geraldo Bonorino Xexéo and Jano Moreira de Souza won third place in the 2024 SBC Innovation Seal.

This project makes an important contribution to the training of young women, aged between 15 and 21, in order to improve their skills and motivate them to work in the STEM areas, in order to reduce gender inequality in these areas, with a special focus on Computing.
