Prof. Daniel Ratton Figueiredo (PESC) and his collaborator Maximilien Dreveton (EPFL, Switzerland) offered a tutorial at the joint ACM Sigmetrics/IFIP Performance Conference on June 10, 2024.

For more information about ACM Sigmetrics / IFIP Performance click here.

The tutorial entitled "Network clustering: 50 years and still going!" makes an introduction to the classic and current problem of clustering vertices in networks, presents and discusses several algorithmic approaches and also recent theoretical results on thresholds for accurate recovery of clusters in models.

The slides and videos of the classes are available by clicking here.

Daniel and Maximilien supervised the master's thesis of Felipe Schreiber Fernandes (PESC), defended in 2023, whose theme was grouping vertices in networks with attributes (see here), starting this current collaboration. At the moment, they both share a workroom at EPFL, Switzerland, where Daniel is a Visiting Professor with funding from CNPq (PDE scholarship).
