The paper entitled "Temporal Characterization and Mathematical Modeling of the Submarine Cable Network" by Rafael de Oliveira Costa (PhD student at PESC) and Daniel Ratton Figueiredo (his supervisor at PESC) received the Honorable Mention Award at WPerformance 2023.

The work presents a characterization of the global network of submarine cables and a mathematical model capable of generating random networks with characteristics similar to the real network (click here for the paper).

WPerformance (Workshop on Performance of Computational and Communication Systems) is in its 22nd edition and is a satellite event of the Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society (CSBC), held this year in João Pessoa, from August 8th to 9th. In this edition, 32 papers were submitted and 12 were accepted for publication and oral presentation, of which three received the Honorable Mention Award. (Click here for more information).

Congratulations to the award-winning co-authors!
