The Special Committee on Software Engineering (CEES) will pay tribute to Profa. Ana Regina Cavalcanti da Rocha, during CBSoft 2023 (click here).

This honor is due to the recognition of the long journey and dedication of Prof. Ana Regina in training human resources in terms of both quality and quantity.

Below is a summary of the various fronts of Prof. Anna Regina - certainly a beautiful trajectory.

Prof. Ana Regina Cavalcanti da Rocha holds a degree in Mathematics from UFRJ (1971), a Master's degree in Informatics from PUCRJ (1978), and a PhD in Informatics from PUCRJ (1983). One of the pioneers of Software Engineering and Software Quality in Brazil, she is currently a retired full professor at UFRJ and partner at Implementum Consultoria. Throughout his academic career, which was initially performed at the Military Engineering Institute (IME) and then at the Systems and Computing Engineering Program (PESC) at COPPE/UFRJ, where he introduced the line of Software Engineering and supervised around 130 graduate students (100 master's and 30 doctoral), in addition to having published more than 250 articles in journals and events, including books and book chapters.

Prof. Ana Regina has always been involved with actions to promote the evolution of Software Engineering in our community. She started with her participation in the collaborative project with CERN at the beginning of her career at COPPE/UFRJ, the initial organization of what we now have as SBES (Brazilian Symposium on Software Engineering), SBQS (Brazilian Symposium on Software Quality) and SBIE ( Brazilian Symposium on Informatics in Education). In addition, there is intense activity in the areas of Medical Informatics and, mainly, in creating and implementing the MPS.Br (Brazilian Software Process Model). During its trajectory, it should be highlighted the intense and continuous collaboration with the Software Engineering community and, mainly, with the software industry, resulting in the transfer of different software technologies, such as tools, environments, and processes, among others, to the Brazilian development scenario.

CEES and the entire ES community in Brazil are extremely grateful for all the contributions made by Profa. Ana Regina.

Congratulations, Prof. Ana Regina, for this well-deserved tribute!
