The book "Combinatória", authored by professor Fábio Happ Botler (PESC/UFRJ) in collaboration with Maurício Collares, Taísa Martins (UFF), Walner Mendonça, Rob Morris (IMPA), and Guilherme Oliveira Mota (USP), has been awarded the 3rd edition of the Elon Lages Lima Prize. This prize is offered by the Brazilian Mathematical Society (SBM) and the Brazilian Society for Applied and Computational Mathematics (SBMAC) with the aim of promoting and stimulating national mathematics literature and applications.

The book was published in 2021 by IMPA Publisher and was used as course material during the 33rd Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium. Since then, it has been utilized as the textbook for the courses on Extremal and Probabilistic Combinatorics I and II, which are offered annually at PESC.

The award ceremony will take place during the Brazilian Mathematics Colloquium, organized by SBM at IMPA in Rio de Janeiro, from July 24th to 28th this year.
