“THE PATTERN RECOGNITION OF PROBABILITY DISTRIBUTIONS OF AMINO ACIDS IN PROTEIN FAMILIES. GENERAL SETTINGS AND STEINER LOCI TECHNIQUES "

R.P. Mondaini - PESC/COPPE/UFRJ

2a. fa., 21 novembro 2016 - Sala G122, COPPE, Centro de Tecnologia, 13:30 - 14:30.

Abstract:

The formation and evolution of protein families is a problem of the same importance as that of protein folding/unfolding and should be solved before in order to model the necessary Levinthal stages for describing the Protein Dynamics.  This Protein Family Formation Process (PFFP) is then driven by a Combinatorial Technique based on multinomial distribution and the associated pattern recognition is obtained from a Poisson statistical approach for deriving probability distributions of amino acid occurrences of two variables.  A new technique based on the determination of  Steiner Loci is then introduced in order to characterize the pattern recognition of level curves of these surfaces.
