Call for Papers ICORD 2016. ITAM. Ciudad de México

***CALL FOR PAPERS***

ICORD 2016 - International Conference on Operational Research for Development.
ITAM, México City, México.
June 9-10, 2016.

Traditionally, as part of its ongoing commitment to OR in developing countries, IFORS is joined by the EURO Working Group in OR for Development and the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) in sponsoring this event.

ICORD aims to bring together researchers around the world to present and discuss models and methods to overcome issues existing in developing countries. The theme for ICORD 2016 is “Constructing pathways to advanced societies through OR”. Envisioning advanced societies as organized social groups that pursue higher standards of quality of life, we believe that OR plays an important role in decision making, more efficient policy-making and problem-solving in such fields as sustainability, healthcare, energy, mobility, education, etc.

Authors with papers that fit the scope of ICORD 2016 are encouraged to participate. The papers should be close to submission to a peer reviewed journal and must demonstrate a thorough OR analysis in a problem area important to developing countries such as, but not limited to, the fields described above. Purely technical papers, or those that have no relevance in the developmental context, will not be accepted. Extended abstracts (no less than 1,500 words) will be accepted, though full papers are preferred.

The ICORD format allows participants to receive constructive feedback from assigned reviewers following the presentation. This discussion can significantly help to improve the quality of the paper towards publication in a peer-reviewed journal. Papers with potential for publication will be invited to submit the full version to ITOR. Such submissions will undergo the standard refereeing procedure.

Potential candidates may ask for information on limited financial help to attend the conference after acceptance of his/her article for presentation at ICORD 2016.

Paper guidelines and submission link are available at http://ifors.org/icord2016
