Type ./configure in the ProTcXl source directory. If Tcl and Tk have been installed in non-standard paths or if there are several different versions of Tcl/Tk installed, use
./configure inst= Dirwhere Dir is the root directory of the Tcl/Tk installation, i.e. the directory that contains subdirectories include and lib with installed Tcl/Tk files. If the Tcl/Tk files are installed in different root directories, Dir can be a list of all these directories separated by spaces. If Tcl/Tk files are not installed in lib and include subdirectories, simply specify all directories that contain libtcl*, libtk* and *.h files. The configuration script does its best to find all needed Tcl/Tk files in a predefined path as well as in the user-specified directory list. If some of the libraries cannot be found, the configuration script prints an error message and exits. In this case it is necessary to provide a correct directory or directories.
ProTcXl also needs the directory with the ECLiPSe include files. The configuration script tries to invoke eclipse and find out its installation directory. If this is not possible (typically when ECLiPSe is not yet installed), it prints a warning. In this case, edit the Makefile after the configuration finishes, and provide the correct path for the PROLOG_INCLUDE macro. Usually this can be ../../include, because ProTcXl is unpacked inside the ECLiPSe installation.
Similarly, the configuration script tries to guess the machine architecture and if it fails, it prints a warning that the ARCH environment variable should be set and exits. In this case, set the ARCH environment variable to the value obtained by running the ARCH script in the ECLiPSe root directory and restart the configuration script.
