The following keys are interpreted inside a variable matrix:
- s - accelerator for the select menu item
- S - accelerator for the select and step menu item
- m - accelerator for the make choice menu item
- l - accelerator for the lookahead menu item
- c - accelerator for the constraint list menu item
- b - similar to b typed in the varstack - the last depth
is retried.
It can be used for instance to undo the last manual modification.
- a digit from 0 to 9 - label the variable with this value.
This is a shorthand for make choice which instantiates
the variable with a small integer value.
- newline - the variable is instantiated with the previous value
entered either as a single digit modification or typed into
the variable domain window displayed with the right mouse button.
This last value, if there was any, is always
displayed in the top left
corner of the variable matrix.
For example, when we instantiate manually the first queen variable
to 5, the matrix will show
