English proficiency may be evidenced in one of the following ways:
- Test results such as TOEFL, Cambridge, IELTS, TAPI (modules A, B e C), DET (Duolingo English Test).
- Certificate of intermediate English course. Some online courses certified by MEC may be accepted, such as MyEnglishOnline and Englishtown.
- Declaration from a graduate program stating that the candidate has proficiency in the English language. For example, master students from COPPE applying for a doctorate at PESC may request a declaration from their current graduate departments.
- Two or more courses in the Score records, whose programs justify an intermediate level of English.
For the test certificates, the recomended scores are the following:
TEST | Minimum Score or Level |
---|---|
TOEFL - iBT | 66 |
TOEFL - iTP | 513 |
IELTS | 5,0 |
Cambridge | PET |
