Prof. Franklin Lima Marquezino (PESC) visited the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland, on July 24th and gave a lecture at the seminar cycle at the Center for Quantum Science and Engineering (QSE Center). The lecture entitled "An overview of quantum walks" was the first of two lectures at the seminar that attracted more than 50 participants, including students and professors from different departments.

Franklin, who currently serves as a Visiting Researcher at the Center for Quantum Computing Science at the University of Latvia, was received by Prof. Daniel Ratton Figueiredo (PESC), who currently works as a Visiting Professor at EPFL, on behalf of an international cooperation research project funded by CNPq.
