Prof. Guilherme Horta Travassos (PESC) will give a talk entitled "Indomable Software".

It will be on the Official Youtube Channel of PUC-Paraná, on 12/07/21, from 8 am to 9 am.

Summary:

Society has become increasingly dependent on software and dependent on its quality. We've learned a lot and evolved over these years about how to tame software (build quality software systems). However, as much as we have understood how to solve (even partially) the engineering problems of the past, contemporary software systems with their "properties" of omniscience, omnipresence and omnipotence put us ahead of still untamed software (like "engineering" software modern). This lecture intends to motivate a discussion (non-exhaustive, self-limiting and incomplete) about what we have been doing in software engineering in the last 20 (+) years and to present some challenges that can influence the future of engineering of contemporary software systems.
